Abstract

Peace characterization of a state is determined by her role in peace construction. Interestingly, Pakistan’s peace characterization remains obscure in the eyes of the world due to lopsided projection. Perhaps in the post 9/11 scenario, Pakistan has been more illustrated in war literature than in peace literature and perhaps her geo-strategic location and perpetration of terrorist acts within the state have obscured her role in peace construction. The role of adversaries has also played its part in projecting the Non peace characterization of Pakistan and unfortunately no counter measures have been taken to defuse negative propaganda. This negligence has a dampening effect on the efforts that Pakistan is making towards World Peace. The paper aims to present peace characterization of Pakistan in context of Pakistan’s involvement in UN peacekeeping missions. The objectives are to extol Pakistan’s contribution to World Peace and to predict the sustainability of peace character of Pakistan. It would be beneficial to bring out the soft image of Pakistan in constructing peace in international system as desired by the UN goals of peace and prosperity.
